Swamp situated amidst urban and highly developed landscape. A large commercial building and parking lot are apprx 400m NE of plot. The swamp is in the traditional floodplain of the Tygart River, which bounds it to the W and S.;Extremely dense herbaceous wetland community, so dense that several deer passed within 5m of me without realizing I was there. Primary cover is Scirpus rubricosus with a tangled web of Polygonum sagittatum running throughout. Much of the swamp is so densely filled with P. sagittatum and Rosa palustris that it is all but impenetrable. Shrubs are scattered throughout, the most prevalent being Cornus amomum.
